Come to a weekend of “Yoga For Osteoporosis Phase II” on Saturday April 29th and Sunday, April 30th in Rhinebeck, NY. Our focus will be on building up wrist strength and more complex standing poses to improve your balance and bone density in a safe way. Our goal is to send you home with a more advanced and nuanced personal “Yoga For Osteoporosis” practice that best suits you.
The workshop will take place from 10 am – 5 pm on Saturday, April 29th (with a one hour lunch break from 12 noon – 1 pm), and from 9 am – 12 noon on Sunday, April 30th. It includes lunch on Saturday, and coffee, tea and Danish on Sunday morning. The cost is $300 per person. Joining us in the classroom as assistant teachers will be Karen Abramson and Sharon Hong.
In this nine-hour workshop we review the 12 poses in Dr. Fishman’s “Yoga for Osteoporosis” study to make sure that you are doing them to the best of your ability, and we will teach you a second group of bone-building poses to add into your practice. You will learn new poses to improve your balance, stress the bones in your spine, hips, wrists and arms.
As our gift to you, at the end of the workshop we invite you to spend an hour with us practicing yoga in a Warm Water Pool. The water is around 90 degrees, and the pool is 4 feet deep. Knowing how to swim is not a prerequisite. Participation is completely voluntary but we would be delighted to send you home in the relaxed state that this will induce.
The size of this workshop is limited so we ask that you sign up early if you want to participate. You will be officially enrolled upon receipt of your payment. You can pay for this workshop by check or by credit card via PayPal. If you have to cancel your reservation we will give you a credit towards a future Schaff Yoga Therapy workshop or private yoga therapy session in person or on Skype.
If you have any questions about this workshop please write to me or Karen Abramson at Karen@schaffyogatherapy.com. Once you are enrolled we will send you preparatory materials for this workshop.
Hoping to see you in beautiful historic Rhinebeck!
