Schaff Yoga Therapy’s 40-hour Warm Water Yoga Training Program is registered with International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and recognized by the Arthritis Foundation as a recommended therapeutic modality. It takes place in Rhinebeck, New York from November 10 th – November 16 th . This is the only Warm Water Yoga Teacher Training Program we are offering this year.
Led by IAYT Certified Yoga Therapist Terry Roth Schaff, this training program will teach you how to make yoga accessible to people with physical and neurological conditions. It is designed to help improve balance, range of motion, coordination and mobility while cultivating a peaceful state of mind. You will learn yoga poses and sequences in the water that increase cardio-vascular circulation, open up restricted joints, stretch tight muscles and strengthen weak ones, and breath work and relaxation exercises to soothe the nervous system, while helping the participants to feel grounded, rejuvenated, and refreshed. Terry will show you how to set up a Warm Water Yoga program in your community.
Becoming a certified Warm Water Yoga instructor will give you the opportunity to teach yoga to people who may no longer be able to have an active yoga practice on land, and to people with special needs in a safe and supportive environment.
For certification you must already hold a 200-hour certification as a yoga instructor, with a minimum of three years teaching experience and at least 450 yoga teaching hours. We also ask that you have completed CPR within the last 12 months and be a confident and experienced swimmer.
Workshop Payment & Refund Policy
Tuition for the program is $2,000, which includes a total of 40 hours of training, 22 hours in the water and 18 hours in the classroom. You will receive a copy of our Warm Water Yoga Training Manual. Lunches and snacks will be provided but you will need to arrange for your lodging and additional meals.

If you need to cancel prior to the start of the training program payment will be returned to you in the form of a credit that is good for one year from the date of the start of the workshop towards any future Schaff Yoga Therapy service or offering. Services available include: mentoring, one-on- one yoga therapy (in-person and on Skype), workshops and training programs.
In the event that Schaff Yoga Therapy has to cancel this program for an unexpected reason, you will be given a full refund.
