Schaff Yoga Therapy’s Medical Yoga Training Programs at Omega Institute with Terry Roth Schaff & Karen Abramson of Schaff Yoga Therapy Inc.

For nurses, physical and occupational therapists, physicians and other medical professionals, along with yoga therapists & any experienced yogi interested in deepening their own personal practice.

Achieve positive outcomes for yourself, your students and patients who deal with postural, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Leading physicians at major medical schools and hospitals endorse this training program and recommend its practices to treat and relieve pain. This training program has been approved by the Arthritis Foundation and the International Association of Yoga Therapists. CEUs are available for nurses, certified IAYT yoga therapists, and YA yoga teachers.

Weekend Adaptive Yoga Training Program (10 ½ hours) May 29 - 31, 2020 - POSTPONED Learn seated and standing sequences to improve posture and gait, and for osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, the most common musculoskeletal conditions found with aging.  This course prepares you to: . Understand basic anatomy and physiology as they relates to posture, osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.

·      Modify yoga postures for people with physical impairments affecting stability, balance, strength, flexibility and range of motion

 Successful completion of this weekend training program prepares you to teach three series of yoga postures that they can be safely shared in a variety of settings including independent and assisted living communities, nursing homes and hospitals.

5-Day (Sunday – Friday) Adaptive Yoga Training Program (22.75 hours) May 31 - June 5, 2020 - POSTPONED Learn seated and standing sequences for spine and hip conditions.

This course prepares you to: ·      Understand basic anatomy and physiology as they relate to specific musculoskeletal and neurological conditions affecting the spine and hip.

·      Modify yoga postures for people with physical impairments affecting stability, balance, strength, flexibility and range of motion

·      Structure classes so that students with medical issues can participate and enjoy their yoga experience safely and comfortably

·      Understand the impact and safely teach students with co-morbidities

 Successful completion of this 22.75-hour training program prepares you to teach yoga in a variety of settings including independent and assisted living communities, nursing homes and hospitals.

 Note: Tuition includes training manuals, and Terry Roth Schaff’s Chair-Supported Yoga DVD

 7-Day (Friday – Friday) Adaptive Yoga Training Program (32 ½ hours) May 29 - June 5, 2020 - POSTPONED Achieve positive outcomes for yourself, your students and patients who deal with postural issues, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Learn seated and standing sequences for osteoporosis, osteoarthritis, lordosis, kyphosis, lordosis, spondylolisthesis, bulging and herniated discs, stenosis, piriformis syndrome, SI joint derangement, labral tears and bursitis.

This course prepares you to: ·      Understand basic anatomy and physiology as it relates to postural, musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.

·      Modify yoga postures for people with physical impairments affecting stability, balance, strength, flexibility and range of motion

·      Structure classes so that students with medical issues can participate and enjoy their yoga experience safely and comfortably

·      Understand the impact and safely teach students with co-morbidities

 Successful completion of this 32 ½-hour training program prepares you to teach yoga in a variety of settings including independent and assisted living communities, nursing homes and hospitals.
